Council approves water plant project

The Coalfield Progress  – July 7th, 2014

WISE — Council last Tuesday agreed to amend an existing engineering
agreement between the town and Thompson & Litton for a water treatment plant
The engineering firm designed and oversaw construction of an improvement
project at the Bear Creek reservoir. When this project concluded, $85,000
remained in Rural Development grant funds. The town plans to use this money
for improvements at its water treatment plant.
The amended agreement approved last week will allow Thompson & Litton to
oversee this new project, which involves replacing the plant’s membrane roofing
system, installing a new electric roll-up door, replacing existing heaters in the
filter and pipe galley, and installing a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning
system in the office areas. Total project costs are estimated at $84,300. Thompson
& Litton will receive $24,600 of this amount for its services.
