T&L Places First in Annual Statewide Survey Plat Competition

Thompson & Litton has again done well in the Virginia Association of Surveyors (VAS) annual statewide National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) Map Plat Design Competition. Contest winners were announced during an awards dinner which was part of the Association’s 67th annual convention and meeting on January 23, 2015 in Glen Allen, Virginia.

The plats were judged by out of state surveyors and other national organization dignitaries. All entries were judged on adherence to the minimum standards set forth by NSPS and VAS. The judges considered interpretability, content and layout of data shown, presentation, innovation, applicability to typical client or persons using this type of plat, and correctness. Neatness and accuracy were also considered. Maps and plats that were completed after June 30, 2013 were eligible for entry.

Thompson & Litton employees placed in three categories as follows:

Woody McCowan (1st Place - ALTA Survey Plat)

Woody McCowan (1st Place – ALTA Survey Plat)

2nd Place - Boundary Plat (Chuck Forbes)
