Thompson & Litton is pleased to announce  that Rusty Anderson, PE, LEED AP, Steve Farris, PE, Chuck Forbes, LS, Andrew Monk, PE, Eric Price, PE, LS, and Jeremiah Tuggle, PE  have recently been named Associates of the firm. Thompson & Litton’s President, Greg Hurst, stated, “These six individuals have consistently revealed outstanding character and abilities and deserve to be set aside and recognized. Their skills and dedication have been vital to the growth and success of our firm.”

Russell Anderson, PE, LEED AP, T&L’s Lead Electrical Engineer, is a 2002 graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Rusty has over 17 years of experience in the design and construction of engineering projects. Rusty joined T&L in 2011 and has experience working on a variety of projects involving both renovation and new construction of office, testing, correctional, industrial, water and sewer pump stations, barracks, educational, hotels, inn, apartments, library, medical, retail, federal, and hanger facilities in addition to street lighting projects. 

T&L’s Director of Building Services, Steve Farris, PE, CEM, is a 1990 graduate of Tennessee Technological University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve has over 25 years of experience, and was the lead engineer and President of SEDA, Inc., before merging with T&L in 2013. He began his career in the mechanical contracting field gaining hands on insight into all aspects of the design and function of mechanical systems. Steve has served as project engineer and manager on a broad range of projects including educational, institutional, commercial and industrial facilities. Steve has performed energy audits for various building types and has earned his Certification as an Energy Manager.

Chuck Forbes, LS, is a 1999 graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University receiving a Bachelors of Science Degree in Forestry and has extensive experience in the field of surveying. Chuck joined T&L in 2005 and received his Licensed Surveyor registration in 2007 from the Commonwealth of Virginia and North Carolina in 2009. He is currently the firm’s Director of Surveying for all land survey operations.

Andrew Monk, PE, joined T&L in 2008. He is a 2007 graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with special concentration in Environmental and Water Resource Engineering.  Andrew has over ten years of experience in the design and construction of engineering projects. He has played a major role in site development, stormwater and solid waste management projects.  As T&L’s Lead Civil Engineer-Radford, he gathers and evaluates project data, provides recommendations, and oversees the design details and construction documents. He is an integral part of the T&L team.

Eric W. Price, PE, LS, is a 1996 graduate of the University of Kentucky receiving a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Eric is a licensed Professional Engineer and licensed Land Surveyor in several states. He has more than 23 years of experience in the survey, design and drafting of engineering projects in Southwest Virginia. Eric joined T&L in 2005 and serves as a Senior Project Manager. Eric specializes in several areas, including broadband, telecommunications engineering, civil engineering, and surveying.

Jeremiah Tuggle, PE, is a 2008 graduate of Bluefield State College, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology, and a 2005 graduate of Concord University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.  Jeremiah has over ten years of experience in the design and construction of engineering projects. Since joining T&L in 2009, he has played a key role in the preliminary and final design of a variety of development projects for multiple civil engineering and architectural projects. Jeremiah serves as the Director of Civil/Site Engineering for the firm.

T&L Aids in the Development of Broadband in Virginia and West Virginia

T&L has been aiding in the development and implementation of Broadband Projects since 2006. We have designed fifteen broadband projects and numerous wireless deployment projects throughout Virginia and West Virginia.
These projects have encompassed:
• Nearly 1000 miles of fiber optic plant;
• Over 200 wireless tower sites;
• Three different project types (middle mile, last mile and wireless);
• 30+ local governments, private companies, regional authorities and state agencies; and
• Numerous types of professional services including route location, design, permitting, construction administration and inspection.

T&L has assisted numerous localities, authorities, co-ops, and other entities on various telecommunications and technology initiatives, including:
• Feasibility Studies;
• Funding Assistance
• Business Plans; and
• Advisory services for forming and managing authorities and public-private partnerships.

T&L Welcomes Adam Parker

T&L is happy to welcome Adam Parker to our Radford office as a Project Manager. Adam is a 2011 graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His previous work includes field superintendent and high school math teacher. Most recently he was the Director of Installation and Fabrication with an engineering firm focusing on Industrial Water Treatment in manufacturing facilities across the United States. His passion is to develop himself and others into strong leaders in the workplace. He loves discussing leadership techniques and resources.

He and his wife are very involved in their community and enjoy calling the NRV their home. In his off-time he loves being a husband and dad at home to his wife and three kids (an 18 year old and two 3 year olds). They are foster parents in Pulaski County and desire to see family restorations in their community. As advocates for foster children, they love talking about their journey with an ever growing family.

T&L Wecomes Matthew Allen

T&L is excited to welcome Matthew Allen to our Princeton, West Virginia office as a Design Engineer. Matt is a graduate of Bluefield State College and holds a bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering Technology and an associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He has over ten years of experience in civil engineering and architecture. Matt possesses a wide range of professional design experience, and has worked in architecture, survey, manufacturing, and civil engineering. His experience includes a variety of designs: from roadway alignments to custom signage. Matt also volunteers extensively in Wyoming and Mercer Counties in West Virginia. He was Team Leader of Wyoming County Innovation Acceleration Strategy Transportation Team, where he and his team and county officials discuss and plan bike friendly communities, Safe Routes to School, and Rails-to-Trails. He is a member of the Technological and Socioeconomic Advisory Board for Drafting-CAD, were he assists the instructor with his curriculum and also stays updated on trends in CAD. Matt also volunteers with Bluestone Valley Trails and a working group with Rails-to-Trails and community officials to tap into West Virginia’s rich railroad history and preserve corridors for recreational use.
