Highlands Community Services – Center for Behavioral Health desired to consolidate their eleven county-wide locations into one centralized facility, for the convenience of their clients.Thompson & Litton was retained by Highlands Community Services to provide professional architectural and engineering services for the design and construction of a new centralized Community Service Facility located in Abingdon, VA.

Project highlights include:

  • The facility is a two-story, steel framed structure with masonry veneer exterior walls, an EPDM roof, and a semicircular glass curtain wall at the front of the building;
  • The new facility includes space for Care Coordination, Day Support, Youth and Family Services, Substance Abuse Services, Community Counseling and Administration.
  • The site is a 6 acre parcel located in the professional medical/business park known as “The Campus” in the northeast section of Washington County;
