Oak Park Center for Business and Industry

In 2002, Thompson & Litton (T&L) was retained by the Industrial Development Authority of Washington County, Virginia (IDA) to provide professional architectural and engineering services associated with the development of the Oak Park Center for Business and Industry. This business park is located off of Virginia Route 1718 (Westinghouse Road) in Washington County, Virginia.

For the next ten years (10), T&L and the IDA worked together on the development of Master Plans, Preliminary Engineering Reports, funding strategies, design, permitting, bidding and construction of a multi-phased development (Phases II, III, and IV) which resulted in the following improvements:

  • 104 acres of graded building pads;
  • Extension of support infrastructure for water (potable and fire suppression), sewer, stormwater, natural gas, power, fiber, phone, and cable; and
  • Access improvements included design of rail access for selected areas of the park, improvements and extension of existing access roads within the Park, and the installation of a second means of access from U.S. Route 11 to enhance the Park;
