The Pinnacle

Thompson & Litton (T&L), working as a sub-consultant to both BurWil Construction Company and Williams Blackstock Architects on this design-build project, provided full service engineering and architectural design and permitting services for the overall site infrasturture, shops, buildings, and retailers as part of the Pinnacle Development in Bristol, Tennessee.

The Pinnacle is designed to accommodate over 1,000,000 SF of retail, restaurant, hotel and medical office space.

Some of the civil engineering services provided by T&L included design of the following project elements:

  • Site plan, erosion & sediment control plan and stormwater management plan for the 250 acre mixed use development site;
  • Pinnacle Parkway – one mile of four lane boulevard type roadway with a raised grass median, sidewalks, lighting, three signalized intersections (PB) and a four leg two lane roundabout;
  • South Loop road connection from Pinnacle Parkway to Holiday Drive;
  • 11,000 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sanitary sewer to serve the development;
  • 12,400 linear feet of 12-inch, 8-inch and 6-inch water line to serve the development;
  • 300,000 gallon water storage tank for The Pinnacle development and for Bristol, Tennessee;
  • Storm drainage system for the Parkway and the retail development;
  • Two regional stormwater management basins;
  • Coordination with TDOT, BTES, and ATMOS for road improvements at Route 11W, underground power, and gas service, respectively.
  • Specific electrical engineering design services provided by T&L on this project included the following:
  • Exterior lighting along the Parkway;
  • Exterior parking lot lighting for the retail development;and
  • Coordination with BTES for electrical service feeds for the retail development.

This project also included coordination with the Contractor, City of Bristol, Tennessee, Architects, Landscape Architects, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) and Washington County, Virginia.
