Virginia Tech Dairy Barn Relocation

The Virginia Tech Foundation procured English Construction Company to provide Design Build services for the relocation of the Dairy School to a new and relocated Dairy Facility to located at the Kentland Farm property. T&L and Five-G Consulting provided full service and specialized design services for a the new and relocated Dairy Facility.

As part of the site civil engineering scope for this project, T&L performed the following services:

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of the existing open and closed stormwater collection systems over an area of approximately 1,050 acres;
  • Evaluating nineteen (19) sinkholes, natural and manmade open stormwater conveyance channels and multiple single, dual and triple barrel culverts;
  • Design of new channels and culverts; and
  • Design of open and closed stormwater collection systems to convey stormwater from the 34 acre facility to an extended detention basin. The basin provides water quantity control for downstream channels and water quality treatment for approximately 40 acres.
