Virginia Tech Marching Virginians Practice Facility

T&L was retained by Virginia Tech to provide professional architectural and engineering services for the development of a new Virginia Tech Marching Virginians Practice Facility. The facility is located on the existing Inert Debris Site, which was situated approximately .15 miles to the southeast of the intersection of Southgate Drive and Sterrett Street.

The building program included an enclosed structure housing, an Instrument Storage Room, and a Drum Line Room to accommodate around 350 musicians. Attached to the enclosed structure housing is an open air pavilion providing protection from the elements. An artificial turf is sized to accommodate a regulation-size football field, including sidelines on each side, and permanently striped and illuminated for night use. The existing Marching Virginians Conductor’s Tower was relocated to a permanent site at the field.
