    Minimum Job Requirements

    · Associates Degree or Technical School Degree in computer aided design (CAD) and/or GIS

    · Proficient in AutoCAD and typical GIS software

    · Proficient in Microsoft office programs such as Word and Excel

    · Proficient in Revit

    · Experience working with point clouds from a Tremble model

    Job Duties:

    · Show up daily and ready to work

    · Assist the design and project engineers with development of the engineering documents

    · Find and manipulate GIS information to be use din base mapping and exhibits

    · Develop the AutoCAD drawings in accordance with firm standards

    · .Perform field work from time to time with a design engineer

THOMPSON & LITTON, a multi-disciplined engineering firm with an established practice, which includes both public and private sector clientele, has openings for Resident Project Representatives (RPR’s) on a large sewer project between Bristol and Abingdon, Virginia. RPR’s are also commonly referred to as Construction Inspectors or Project Inspectors. The project involves gravity sewer, force mains and pumping stations,

The ideal candidate will either have a High School Diploma and prior experience as an RPR and/or construction experience on sewer improvements projects or waterline extensions, or engineering background/education with 5-10 years of experience involving sewer improvements projects or waterline extensions. This is a temporary position that the candidate will hold throughout the duration of the project. Forty (40) hours a week is to be expected. The project has been bid and is anticipated to begin this fall, lasting approximately 425 days to substantial completion with a 60 day closeout period.

RPR Responsibilities:

· Site observation to ensure the Work progresses in accordance with the Contract Documents

· Record keeping – maintains a daily logbook and/or daily reports of all activities occurring at the project site

· Provide progress reports

· Review Contractor pay requests and progress schedules

· Prepares and maintains Record Drawings of construction installations and deviations from plans

· Review equipment operation and material on job site

· Interprets specifications as related to materials and workmanship

· Observe and document construction and testing activities

· Assist the Engineer with substantial completion and final completion inspections

· An RPR is the Engineer’s agent at the project site, and will act as directed by and under the supervision of the Engineer

Keith is a 1996 graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Keith has extensive experience in structural design incorporating a multitude of various materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
    barry-collier Barry Collier, AIA, PMP, joined T&L in 2019. He is a 2007 graduate of Virginia Tech receiving a Bachelor of Architecture Degree.     stacy-fowler Stacy Fowler, PE, joined T&L in 2019 and has amassed over 27 years of experience in his field. He is a graduate of Bluefield State College, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, and a postgraduate of the University of Central Florida, receiving a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He has experience in the design and management of engineering projects and as a Project Manager, Stacy is responsible for project coordination and is the main point of contact between the client and the T&L Project Team.     Elliott Lambert, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, joined T&L in 2006 and has amassed 24 years of experience in architecture. Keli’s strengths are relationship management and connecting people. She facilitates meetings with T&L clients, staff, funding agencies and project stakeholders. Since first joining T&L in 1984, Rick has played a critical role in the development, planning, funding and design of various water, wastewater, site and infrastructure development projects for numerous clients throughout southwest Virginia.

    Over the decades, Rick has maintained customer service as a top priority. Rick expressed that, “… the addition of a department focused on client service will be very beneficial to T&L.” During Rick’s extensive career he has also determined that, “If done correctly, clients remember the service above any costs associated with the job.”
