T&L President Greg Hurst recognized four key T&L employees at our annual end of year marketing meeting on December 19 in Abingdon, VA.
T&L Chariman / Senior Vice President Ron Helton was presented with a resolution from the T&L Board of Directors for his 40 years of service to the firm. Ron has served as Executive Vice President, and was President of T&L for over 21 years.
Senior Project Manager, Rick Chitwood was also presented with a resolution for his 35 years of service, and Senior Project Managers Bill King and Dick Houchins were presented with awards for their 30 years of service. Congratulations to all of you, and thank you for your dedication to Thompson & Litton. Your hard work has played a significant role in shaping T&L. All of our employee-owners appreciate you!

T&L Honors Jay Williams, Giles County BOS

On December 19th, T&L Senior Project Manager Rick Chitwood presented Jay Williams, upon his retirement from service to the Giles County Board of Supervisors, a resolution, that recognized and honored his many accomplishments and years of service to the citizens and economy of Giles County.
Mr. Williams served 20 years on the Board, and T&L has been honored to work with him over the years. We wish him all the best!

Radford Christmas Luncheon/Service Awards

Our Radford office celebrated the holiday season on December 13 with wonderful people and delicious food at our annual Christmas lunch. This year it was held at the Side Door event venue and catered by Sal’s Italian Restaurant. T&L also recognized Jeremiah Tuggle, Director of Site/Civil Engineering for his ten years of service to the firm. The event was a huge success and a fun time was had by all.

Riner Fire Station Ribbon Cutting

T&L attended the ribbon cutting for the new Riner Fire Station. T&L Architect and Senior Vice President, Jack Murphy told the crowd of more than 100 inside the new station’s garage. “I’m going to predict that this is your last facility.”
 
The new 19,148 GSF facility includes six double-loaded apparatus bays and an administration area, including offices, kitchen, meeting rooms, laundry room, day room, turn-out gear room, entrance/lobby, mechanical/electrical support spaces and toilets.

T&L Exhibits at 2019 VML Conference

T&L exhibited at the 2019 Virginia Municipal League conference at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center October 6th – 8th. 

Each fall about 1,000 local government officials, speakers and exhibitors attend the VML Annual Conference. The conference includes:

  • General sessions featuring political leaders, nationally-known speakers and local government experts.
  • Workshop sessions on a variety of local government issues.
  • Business meeting focusing on the adoption of the annual VML legislative program and the election of officers for the upcoming year.
  • The presentation of the annual achievement awards recognizing excellence in local government programs.
  • The opportunity for networking with colleagues from across the state.
  • Exhibit hall featuring the latest in products and services for local governments. New this year will be the length of time that exhibits will be open as well as a designated time to mix and mingle with exhibitors without missing sessions and workshops.

T&L Participates in the Pearisburg Scarecrow Festival

We are excited to be participating in the Pearisburg Scarecrow festival this year hosted by the Pearisburg Merchants Association! If you’re in Pearisburg be sure to check them out at the corner of Wenonah and Main. The T&L Radford team worked hard to build this trio. Special thanks to Maggie Turner for heading up this effort and Claude Ball, Adam Murray, Trenton Miller, Jason Williams, and Chuck Forbes for bringing these scarecrows to life!
